SUPPORT IVIG COVERAGE THROUGH MEDICARE

For three years now there have been discussions, studies and more talk -- but no action -- in Washington to fix the IVIG reimbursement problem for those covered by Medicare. The U. S. Senate is presently considering legislation to address several Medicare changes that are needed. We need to encourage the Senate to be sure to include IVIG reimbursement in the Medicare legislation that will be passed this year.

Contact your senators today. Click here and you will find a letter you can email to your senators. There is space provided in the letter for you to include your own personal experience with IVIG. You should also ask your senators to send a letter to the leaders of the Senate stressing the importance of fixing the IVIG problem this year. Another letter is included for you to email to your senators to ask that they be sure the leaders of the Senate fix the Medicare IVIG problem now! Please do not mail these through postal mail as “snail” mail to Congress, since it now takes a very long time to be delivered due to 9/11 security measures.

Your personal letter to your senators will be important and is needed. We cannot allow the current IVIG situation to continue. We must insist on the Senate providing adequate reimbursement for this treatment so that all who need it will be covered and can receive their care in an appropriate setting.
